The puzzle

Yoga Australia is one of Australia’s largest yoga organisations, recognised as the peak body of yoga teachers. An important nonprofit, YA is dedicated to bringing together teachers of many different styles and backgrounds. Due to COVID-19 concerns, Yoga Australia was in need of website hosting and a flexible payment option, allowing for annual membership fees to be broken up into quarterly payments. The new payment system was intended to reduce the number of expired/non-renewed memberships, while also assisting Yoga Australia’s clients in times of financial strain.

The solution

This most challenging task required integrating the new payment system with third parties such as Xero, Paypal and Stripe, while keeping to a conservative budget. The SBM team combined their extensive knowledge of WordPress and payment systems to integrate a custom solution, despite the rigid requirements of the coding. The initial scoping with the client and extensive feedback ensures the payment system could be integrated efficiently, and to their exact specifications.

The results

The development and introduction of the flexible payment system worked to reduce the number of Yoga Australia’s lost memberships, especially during the economic fallout from COVID-19. The new payment solution integrated perfectly everything that already existed on the site, as well as staying within the client’s budget. SBM have been able to maintain, build and improve the Yoga Australia website, providing rapid developer support for any issues and building a strong, long-term partnership.
