The project
Brand new website massively boosts ticket sales, makes communication between staff a breeze and perfectly integrates with all current management systems.
The puzzle
The O’Brien Group manages a large number of event spaces and facilities across Australia, including the prestigious O’Brien Icehouse in Melbourne. The client needed a new-and-improved website that could refine their extensive calendar of events into a straightforward ticketing process, flawlessly integrated with their on-site ticketing system. The website for O’Brien Icehouse had to be visually appealing, ensuring that visitors could easily book tickets and find exactly what they needed. They also needed a robust web platform that could cope with heavy seasonal traffic.
The solution
Working alongside the O’Brien software team, SBM created a solution that was intuitive and simple for visitors and site managers. The final product: a stunning new website, with a purchase process for online ticket sales tailored specifically for O’Brien Icehouse. SBM’s solution was dynamically integrated with their on-site management software, ensuring that it met the exact needs of the client. This included a user interface that was easy for the O’Brien team to configure from the back end, while providing a smooth, intuitive experience for visitors to the site.
The results
Once the new website was launched, O’Brien Icehouse patrons were able to easily purchase tickets online and scan barcodes at the gate – a totally integrated system that allowed for easy back-end management and staff communication.
The new website saw a 50% increase in online ticket sales, a 200% increase in guest traffic and a 25% reduction in website bounce rate. When O’Brien Icehouse hosted a benefit event for those affected by the 2020 Australian bushfires, the result was 10x the regular website traffic and thousands of extra ticket sales.
