The project
SBM builds impactful websites for an award-winning Australian hospitality group and their popular venues.
The puzzle
The Speakeasy Group operates eight high-end bars and restaurants across Melbourne and Sydney. Consistently associated with quality, their restaurants have won numerous awards over the past decade, making them a premium destination for a unique and relaxing night out. Speakeasy required brand websites that would work on both mobile and desktop, integration with booking apps, venue times that could be easily updated, and easy PDF menus, alongside custom features for each venue.
The solution
Live websites would be required for each brand, drawing in new and returning customers. SBM’s Development team developed a custom template for the individual websites, but followed the same general structure for each in order to preserve the overall Speakeasy brand and keep consistency. This allowed the team to give brands a similar appearance, while highlighting their differences through unique imagery and video. Through a custom-designed platform for PDF viewing, the menus could be easily updated, keeping customers updated on the latest news and offerings.
The results
The new websites were designed to be robust and able to handle heavy traffic, which turned out to be the right move as the Speakeasy group sites received around thirty-thousand visitors in the first few days. Despite heavy traffic and taxing website components (such as video), they functioned incredibly well and provided a clear user journey. During a co-promotion with a major Australian airline, the Mjolner’s website managed over 100,000 visitors without issue. Through smart website builds, Speakeasy group has been able to gather positive reviews, ratings and feedback.
