ESPN
The project
SBM creates a website and online assets, featuring seasonal competitions for one of the world’s most watched sports channels: ESPN.
The puzzle
ESPN is one of the world’s largest sporting channels, broadcasting in over 200 countries, including Australia. They came to SBM in need of a smart website, designed to host seasonal competitions based on sporting events in the USA. It needed to be responsive and easy to update based on the season and current competitions. SBM was also tasked with creating promotional material for ESPN: websites, web banners, social media and more.
The solution
The Design and Development teams worked closely together to craft a strong website build and aesthetic, especially considering the vast audience. A custom competition framework was developed in house, which allowed for pinpoint organisation of lead details and management of the extensive database of entries. This system being in place allowed for the refining of the website until it fit the strict regulations set by ESPN, with close collaboration and multiple feedback stages between the two teams to ensure that it would appeal to their ideal target demographic.
The results
By the end of the project, ESPN received a visually stunning website that matched their brand and drew audiences in. The seasonal competitions have been a huge success, resulting in many entries and contented winners. Through strong marketing campaigns across the web and social media using SBM’s graphics, ESPN has maintained their domination of the sporting world. SBM has continued to work with ESPN on more projects, more competitions and more opportunities to increase their reach and brand awareness.
