Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.
The project
Working with Disney, SBM designs an interactive website for the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibition.
The puzzle
Taking place in the heart of Federation Square, the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. was a dynamic and interactive exhibit that allowed attendees to take on the role of special agents and take a dive into the global phenomenon of Marvel’s Avengers. SBM was tasked with designing an accompanying website portal, incorporating a specific user experience as provided by Disney: information, galleries, ticketing, maps and more. The site needed to take into account the massive, multi-demographic appeal of the Avengers, being both accessible and easy to navigate.
The solution
SBM needed to deliver a complete website design and user interface kit. This website would be supported by the Development team, updating the gallery and making visual tweaks where necessary. An innate knowledge of the superhero genre and Marvel’s aesthetic made the design process smooth and easy, allowing for an effective capture of the distinct, heroic Avengers brand. The SBM team worked closely with the Australia and New Zealand Disney development team, going through multiple concepts until the final site was perfectly suited to appeal to the target audience.
The results
The overall S.T.A.T.I.O.N. experience was a huge success, aided by the stylish, on-brand website design. Many teachers and school children attended the exhibition, drawn by the educational aspect, which linked the film to its scientific basis. Overall, the website received constant updates to make sure it was the definitive hub of information around the exhibition, with the user journey making it easy for visitors to learn more and purchase tickets. S.T.A.T.I.O.N. helped strengthen the Marvel and Avengers brand for a younger audience, with the exhibition eventually touring over a dozen countries.
