Mobile Muster
The project
The SBM video team creates a powerful piece of cinema advertising, showcasing a company’s goals and raising awareness across Australia with dynamic and fun imagery.
The puzzle
MobileMuster is a massive, Australia-wide mobile phone recycling program, aiming to create a brighter, more renewable future. Their efforts are funded by major phone companies, including Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Samsung. MobileMuster came to SBM with their sights set on a dynamic, hard-hitting cinema ad campaign to raise awareness of the program. The SBM video team knew that a clear and engaging message would be vital from the very beginning – specifically, one that would resonate with the captive young cinema audience.
The solution
To properly capture MobileMuster’s services and core brand values, the ad was extensively storyboarded and very specifically crafted for cinemagoers; i.e. a captive audience in a fully immersive multimedia environment. The SBM video team’s ad concept featured stop-motion photography of abandoned mobile phones, with animated text displayed on their screens. Individual frames were tailored to show a variety of brands, to capture a wide range of interest types. Together with a vibrant colour scheme, the messaging was punchy and especially appealing to a younger audience.
The results
The finished product was a vibrant, engaging cinema ad that was distributed throughout Australian cinemas for months, effectively raising massive amounts of awareness for MobileMuster’s program. The client continues to use the final video as an asset across many of their different platforms, showing people how to create a more renewable future with mobile phone recycling.
