Lollipops
The project
SBM creates snappy TV commercial for Lollipops Playland, promoting the brand across all of Australia.
The puzzle
Lollipops is Australia’s largest indoor play centre franchise, with locations all across Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia and a ton of fun activities for kids of all ages. They approached SBM to create a nationwide TV ad campaign that could be customised for their individual franchisees. It was important for the ads to clearly show what the play centres have to offer, as well as Lollipops’ branding and characters. This would give viewers a clear and vibrant picture of what the play centres look like in action.
The solution
It was decided that the ads would blend live-action footage, filmed across a number of centres, with a cartoon element. That ads would open with a cartoon family illustrated in the style of Lollipops’ cat mascot, then blending into live-action footage of a play centre in action. The animated, on-brand characters communicated the fun and colourful atmosphere, with the contrast of a real family showing the heart, human interaction and the real experience of visiting Lollipops. The ad was delivered with content customisable for different platforms; television and online.
The results
The finished TV ad successfully went to air across the country. As a result, Lollipops asked the SBM Video team to make two dozen variations, customised for different locations at the request of individual franchisees. The franchisees who received this content were thrilled with the end result, which proved to be an effective boost for their individual marketing campaigns. These modified versions were displayed on local television, across social media and on franchisee individual websites, strengthening trust in the Lollipops brand.
