Interactive
The project
SBM creates dazzling video concept showcasing tech company’s successes in averting disaster.
The puzzle
Interactive is a tech company specialising in data protection and storage. They’re Australia’s #1 supplier of business continuity services, including disaster recovery, and they host the country’s largest private cloud. They approached SBM seeking some testimonial videos, including clear challenge: due to the sensitive nature of the work, they were unable to name their clients. Simply delivering the testimonials anonymously was not an option, as that would call into question the authenticity of the message. A novel, creative approach would be needed.
The solution
SBM’s video team rose to the creative challenge, opting to focus on instances in which Interactive had ‘saved the day’ for a client and telling these as stories from the perspective of their own technicians. This allowed for a high degree of authenticity, without the need to name clients. The stories were intentionally overdramatised as animated, comic-style illustrations, breathing life and excitement in the situations. The animation was accompanied by voiceover footage: Interactive technicians recounting how they responded to a specific crisis, averting certain disaster for their clients.
The results
The high degree of planning that went into creating the videos allowed them to be highly engaging, with the animated locations perfectly adhering to the confidentiality constraints. The client was extremely happy with the resulting videos, as well as the extremely creative solution that preserved anonymity. The distinctive visuals and novel concept made them an overwhelming success, and they remain on Interactive’s website as content for building trust with potential clients.
