Hot Wheels Car Care
The project
SBM assists with the launch of car cleaning products, using a new website and strong marketing campaign.
The puzzle
Mega LTD is the distributor of Hot Wheels Car Care in Australia, a global brand of beloved car products that was looking to crack into a brand new audience. Mega LTD needed to create a strong digital presence, remaining connected to the Hot Wheels brand while targeting a new, older audience and letting them know that their offering was for full-size vehicles, not just miniatures. The SBM team was asked to enhance their web presence in Australia, providing product information to website users, along with different options for eCommerce.
The solution
Applying constant feedback from the client, the website was built from the ground up to be on-brand and appealing to an adult demographic, allowing the client to be a serious competitor in the auto industry. Once the website was ready for launch, a competition was run to help build a database of potential customers. It was decided that the video component had to be truly high-end, with head-turning production values. This included the hire of both classic and modern Mustangs, cast actors and visual effects to perfect the lighting.
The results
The many assets delivered to the client resulted in a successful launch for the Hot Wheels Car Care brand in Australia. Mega LTD was also able to achieve a crucial brand shift to a more ‘mature’ market, while the TVC was used for both television and web. The website’s competition saw excellent results, with over 300 people entering in the first 24 hours at a low average cost of around $1 for the client. The first range of products was so successful that SBM has been trusted with future campaigns.
