Success and sign-ups for Disney+, thanks to a strong advertising pushHospitality/Entertainment/Leisure

The project

Disney+ achieves streaming success in Australia, thanks to some powerful promo pieces from SBM.

The puzzle

Disney+ was all set to make huge waves in the streaming industry: a massive library of not just Disney classics, but also countless films and television series from Disney’s various owned properties, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Twentieth Century Fox and National Geographic. SBM’s Design team was brought in to deliver a comprehensive, nationwide ad campaign to promote the prestigious launch of Disney+. This far-reaching venture would be across both digital and print, all following the usual strict brand guidelines.

 

The solution

Disney+ was to be a resplendent showcase of the company’s entire library, meaning that all advertising materials had to be of the same high standard. The campaign required materials for billboards, street furniture and public transport, as well as assets for digital panels: animated and static. Marvel Stadium would be a key focus, with signage prominently displayed around the space to entice potential customers and encourage sign-ups. The exhaustive project would also cover a full range of online ad spaces, with material for social media, web banners and EDMs.

The results

By the end of the campaign, SBM’s created materials were displayed prominently throughout major spaces across Australia: billboards, public transport and online. Every piece was tailor-made to fit the space, totally brand compliant and garnering millions of impressions daily. Despite being a new player to the Australian streaming scene, Disney+ rapidly gained influence and climbed through the ranks. Gaining almost two-million subscribers in just a few months, Disney’s new service has now claimed one of the top streaming spots alongside industry giants such as Netflix and Stan.
