CallN
The project
SBM creates a quirky, informative and character-driven animated video to outline innovative call intelligence software for potential users.
The puzzle
CallN is an intelligent software for automated call recording and analytics, designed to glean valuable insights from employee-customer interactions. This simple, cloud-based solution was (at the time) part of Australia’s #1 telecom service, Telstra. Its users range from small businesses to multinational corporations. CallN approached SBM to create an engaging explainer video. This would help demonstrate the software’s features to potential customers, showing how they can be applied to everyday business operations. It needed to give a top-level overview of the software’s features, and how they worked.
The solution
Working closely with CallN, SBM’s video team developed an informed snapshot of a typical customer, allowing for the development of a relatable and entertaining character to serve as an ‘example user’. The result was ‘Bruce’, the fictional owner of a hoverboard emporium. The video uses actual screen captures of the software to integrate a level of realism into the otherwise whimsical and charming animation. This gives the viewer insights into the look and feel of the product from a user perspective, alongside a concise explanation and plenty of life and colour.
The results
Understanding CallN’s ideal target audience gave rise to an end result that speaks clearly to potential users, while engaging viewers via charming and humorous visuals. The final video would be useful both for building trust and assisting their sales funnel to drive conversions. The video continues to be used by CallN as an explainer on their website, where it connects seamlessly with the overall quirky personality of their brand. They have also worked alongside SBM on many other video projects since then.
