Interactive solar calculator provides valuable information to customers and drives conversions for Cherry Energy Solutions.
The puzzle
Cherry Energy Solutions is a leading Australian commercial energy efficiency company, having installed over 50MW of solar and well over a million LED lights across Australia, many for massive corporations and multi-million dollar projects. They approached SBM to generate more leads for solar installation through their website, requesting a simple, interactive, tool to engage website visitors and provide vital solar panel information. This would also serve as a valuable conversion tool for Cherry Energy.
The solution
SBM designed and developed an innovative solar calculator to be added to the client’s website. This would enhance the user experience and allow visitors to determine their energy savings by switching to solar. The calculator would be most useful for website visitors, but it would also provide Cherry with valuable user data. To add authenticity, SBM’s Development team utilised Google Maps and a placement algorithm to calculate the most optimal positioning of solar panels. Finally, the Video team created a simple-yet-effective video showcasing both the calculator’s functionality and Cherry’s work, doubling the calculator’s appeal.
The results
The addition of the calculator to the Cherry Energy Solutions website resulted in the client skyrocketing to the top of search rankings. They not only rank first for multiple extremely high-value keywords, but ‘Cherry solar calculator’ became a popular keyword phrase by itself, speaking volumes as to the calculator’s influence. This led to significantly more leads and valuable data acquired. The link to the calculator is the first thing customers see when they visit the site, highlighting its importance to the client as a means to drive engagement and enquiries.
