Your Business Needs to Post More Often on Social Media. Here’s Why.

Nathan Nguyen
19 March 2021

If you’re thinking of reaching more people online, paid social media probably comes to mind. While paid social media can help you reach your audience, it’s not the only way to connect with followers.

Organic refers to your basic use of social media, with free tools. Photos, video, text posts, tweets; all the things that social media platforms let you do to reach out and interact with your audience.

Paid, on the other hand, is using your budget to create ads and posts that reach a much larger crowd.

Obviously, if you’re looking to reach a massive audience and get those targeted clicks and sales, paid is the way to go…but even if organic posting doesn’t seem as useful on the surface, it’s something that every business needs to be across.

Here’s why.

Got Nothing to Post?

You may think you have nothing to post, but even the most niche businesses can find ways to engage folks across their socials, and without an entire marketing squad’s worth of creativity.

Got a new product to show off? Introducing a new team member? Interesting news, a fresh blog post, or just a random photo of something that happened around the office/workshop/wherever?

As long as you’re sticking to your theme (i.e. not going on political rants), then you have a ton of posting options.

But What Are the Benefits??

Good question. Here are just a few.

It Makes You More ‘Real’

It’s no surprise that your audience can pretty easily distinguish between paid and organic posts. Now, more than ever, your followers are looking to engage with businesses that are authentic.

By pushing out organic posts, businesses are able to provide a genuine insight into what defines them, and makes them unique. A unique selling point is something everyone in business should strive to communicate to their target audience. Social media lets you do that on the daily.

Organic posts showcase your brand personality, making you authentic and trustworthy to your key audience.

They Make Your Business Look Alive and Active

When it comes to online, you have more than one storefront. There’s your website – but a lot of the time, people will land on your social media accounts first, to get an idea of your personality and learn more about what you have to offer.

All this adds up to one thing: your social media pages NEED to look good. People visit your Facebook, Instagram and wherever else to find information and interact with you directly, so it’s not a good look if they arrive there and find that your page is a ghost town.

Organic posts say a whole lot about you as a brand, and they can therefore be a fantastic way to display your unique flair while making your business look alive, responsive and healthy.

Word Of Mouth is Powerful…ESPECIALLY Online

71% of consumers who have had a positive experience with a business are likely to recommend that business to their friends and family.

54% of people use social media to purchase products.

Social media channels act as an outlet for your audience to engage, interact, make purchases and write reviews about their experiences. This is something that you should embrace, and it goes further than simply posting photos.

Whether it be through replying to reviews, engaging in the comments or leaving a like on the post of a fellow business, this all acts to build genuine connection, which you can leverage to create authentic relationships with consumers.
