Digital advertising spend in Australia showing no signs of slowing
Some good news from the world of digital advertising on home soil: digital ad spend has made a massive leap in the past 12 months, going from $2.3 billion in early 2020 to almost $2.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021.
2020 was an extremely challenging year, but with all categories of digital advertising reporting double digit growth in 2021, things are looking positive for any industry looking to bounce back. Sectors such as travel have been able to recover slightly due to an easing of restrictions, contributing to the overall upwards trend.
With digital advertising a constantly evolving space, trends and results point to companies ramping up their spend, diversifying their strategies and taking advantage of many different ways to reach customers via digital.
However, the report also indicated that customers are becoming more averse to big brands online, showing that there’s still plenty of improvement to be made in how large-scale companies interact with followers in the digital space.
